Keyboard Replacement Instruction
Please power OFF the computer and remove the battery and AC power connection
Remove Casing

Laptop keyboards that are removed from the top usually have a casing or other
plastic parts that surround the keyboard to keep it in place.
To remove the casing, use a flat head screw driver, wedge it between the
computer and the casing and lift. The casing should pop off.
Usually it will not be necessary to remove any screws.
Lift Keyboard

Once any plastic casings around the keyboard have been removed the keyboard is
now ready to be lifted. With a flat head screw driver, gently lift the keyboard
away from the laptop. Do not remove the keyboard as it is still attached to the
computer by a ribbon cable. Lift the keyboard just enough to give you enough
room to remove the ribbon.
Detaching Ribbon

The ribbon cable is the part that connects the keyboard to the motherboard. The
keyboard can be removed by disconnecting the ribbon cable from the motherboard.
The ribbon is attached by a plastic clamp that must be lifted in order to remove
the ribbon. Be careful when working with the ribbon and clamp, they are very
delicate. Gently lift the clamp with a screw driver or your finger, remove the
ribbon cable and pull the keyboard away from the computer
Final Steps

You now have access to the motherboard of you computer. At this point you can
clean the keyboard and connectors with pressurized air. If you are replacing
your keyboard simply perform the previous steps in opposite order.
